Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Mouki: Your Pet Planner ("App", "Mouki", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by Zip Strike Studios. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your data.

By downloading, installing, or using Mouki, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information — When you optionally sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider. You are not required to sign in; the App functions with an anonymous account.
• Pet and task data — Pet names, task titles, and any other content you type into the App.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous user ID — When you first open the App, a unique anonymous identifier is created via Firebase Authentication. This ID links your data across sessions and devices.
• Usage and gameplay data — Tasks completed, streak counts, coin totals, achievement progress, pet stats, items purchased with in-game currency, daily mission activity, and session activity timestamps.
• In-app purchase records — Subscription status (Mouki Pro) and coin pack purchase history, processed through RevenueCat and the platform's store (Google Play or Apple App Store). We do not receive or store full payment card details.
• Device and app information — Device type, operating system version, app version, and language settings collected by Firebase and our analytics service.
• Analytics events — App opens, feature interactions (task creation, pet switching, item purchases, sign-in method, streak milestones, onboarding completion). These are logged through Firebase Analytics.
• Push notification token — An Expo push notification token generated when you grant notification permissions. Used only to send local and push reminders.
• Crash and performance data — Error logs and performance diagnostics via Firebase.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Camera or microphone access
• Contacts or address book
• Background location
• Precise advertising identifiers beyond what Firebase Analytics and AdMob collect (see Section 4)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

• Provide and sync the App — Sync your pets, tasks, stats, coins, and progress across sessions and devices via Firebase Firestore.
• Authenticate your account — Create and maintain your anonymous or linked (Google/Apple) account.
• Process purchases — Validate subscriptions and consumable in-app purchases through RevenueCat and the platform store.
• Send notifications — Deliver local reminders about your pets when you have incomplete tasks and have granted notification permission.
• Improve the App — Understand how features are used to fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
• Show rewarded advertising — Display optional rewarded ads (Google AdMob) that you can watch in exchange for in-game benefits (e.g., a free streak save). You are never shown ads without choosing to interact with them.
• Enforce fair use — Prevent abuse of the free tier and verify subscription entitlements.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Mouki uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

These services may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage telemetry according to their own policies. We encourage you to review them.

5. In-App Purchases

Mouki offers the following paid features:

Mouki Pro (Subscription)

• Monthly plan with a 7-day free trial
• Yearly plan
• Unlocks unlimited pets, unlimited daily tasks, and future Pro-only features

Coin Packs (Consumable, one-time)

• 150 coins, 500 coins, 1,500 coins, 3,500 coins

All payments are processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We do not collect or store your payment card information. Subscription management (including cancellation) is handled through your platform's account settings. Purchase history is shared with us via RevenueCat solely to validate your entitlements.

6. Data Storage and Security

• Cloud storage — Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States.
• Local cache — A copy of your data is cached on-device using AsyncStorage for offline access. This data stays on your device and is cleared if you uninstall the App.
• Encryption — Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest via Firebase's standard security controls.
• Access control — Firestore security rules restrict access so that only the authenticated user can read or write their own document.
• Retention — Your data is retained as long as your account exists. Anonymous accounts that have never been linked to a Google or Apple identity may be purged after prolonged inactivity (typically 180 days) at Firebase's discretion. Linked accounts are retained until you request deletion.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Mouki is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at zipstrikestudios@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 All Users

• Notification permissions — You can grant or revoke push notification permission at any time through your device's Settings app.
• Sign-in — Using a social sign-in (Google/Apple) is optional. You can use the App fully with an anonymous account.
• Data deletion — You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at zipstrikestudios@gmail.com. We will delete your Firestore document and associated Firebase Authentication record within 30 days.

8.2 EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland — GDPR Rights

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

• Right of access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure — Request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to restriction — Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
• Right to data portability — Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Right to object — Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
• Right to withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Legal basis for processing: Contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent (for optional features such as push notifications and social sign-in).

8.3 California Residents — CCPA / CPRA Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:

• Right to know — Request disclosure of what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• Right to delete — Request deletion of your personal information.
• Right to correct — Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt-out of sale or sharing — We do not sell or share your personal information.
• Non-discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

9. Advertising

Mouki uses Google AdMob exclusively for rewarded ads — you only see an ad when you voluntarily choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. We do not show banner ads, interstitial ads, or any ads that appear without your explicit opt-in action.

On iOS, the App will request your App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent before any advertising identifier is accessed.

To opt out of personalized advertising:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable tracking for Mouki.

10. Data Transfers

Mouki is developed in and data is primarily stored in the United States via Google Firebase infrastructure. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Google's data processing agreements and Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of EEA/UK personal data.

11. Links to Third-Party Services

The App may reference or link to third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document and, where required by law, by providing additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
